Wyoming Elopement Promises

What does a promise mean to you? How far would you go to keep a promise?

Even more, how far would you go to make a promise?

Laura and AJ’s Wyoming elopement is precisely about their vows. They know they will get married; where that takes place is up to the adventure. So they set off on a journey to find a space that feels right to exchange their vows. They trek through green valleys, dirt, mud, snow, and water. The terrain gives it all to them, and they just keep on going.

Vows

Finally, they meander upon a space that feels like the edge of the world. Boulders and rocks spill out of the water, creating a path toward the center of the lake. They move like skipping stones, bouncing along the surface of the water. Then, they pause. It’s the moment for them to say what they need to say to each other.

They self solemnized, and it was perfect in every way. (Technically, they signed their marriage license in Colorado). The ceremony was raw and beautiful. There was no fluff and no distractions. Laura spoke first, then AJ. Their words were buoyant and uplifting. Their vows meant everything. There was laughter. There were tears. The moment sizzled and etched into their hearts forever.

Determination & Portraits

Laura’s determination is strong. She could carry a group of people through a gauntlet if she needed to. Laura pushes AJ even farther when she feels it’s necessary. That’s what makes relationships so awesome – that sweet synergy. Furthermore, AJ is great and powerful on his own. He can carry his weight as well as anybody. But with Laura by his side, he reaches greater heights.

Even though the journey required commitment, we stopped all along the way for amazing couple’s photos. Life is a marathon, but you still gotta stop and smell the roses 🙂
