Dancing Through The Great Sand Dunes with Brad & Shannon

As the sand fell through Shannon’s fingers and into Brad’s palm, so too did each other’s affection.  And thus the tone was set for an absolutely stunning adventure session at The Great Sand Dunes Colorado!

Arriving at the sand dunes together and trekking via Jeep across the primitive land had us ready to melt into the sand dunes.  A cool stream at the forefront was heavenly for our bare feet before we climbed a 30 foot plateau of sand that was screaming of summer vibes.  For every couple of steps we took, we slid back a touch – perhaps this is just how Shannon and Brad’s relationship came to be. The Dunes were a true reflection of the splendor of time and change, holding within its magnificent magnitude a metaphor for just how small we truly are in this great big world. Thus, when you find someone like Brad and Shannon have, hold onto them tightly but allow yourself to change along side each other.

The weather could not have been more cooperative as intermittent bursts of wind shuffled Shannon’s dress and swished her hair as the two danced atop the sunny, sandy shelf of love.  The windblown dunes in the background gave off a feel of movement even within its own stillness – a perfect setting for Brad to twirl his ballerina in a whirling dervish of love. The white-capped mountain tops and deep forest green hues paired with the perfectly coordinated outfits of the couple made for the most beautiful engagement shoot we’ve done to date!

It was truly an adventure photographing Brad & Shannon’s engagement at the Great Sand Dunes. If this shoot is any indicator, then we know for sure that their wedding day is going to be epically beautiful!

We can not wait to go back to the Sand Dunes for another wildly romantic adventure!
