Breckenridge Elopement
Halfway House
First, let’s start in the middle of our Breckenridge elopement. Halfway through our time together with Ellen and Jake, we traversed to a higher lake. Halfway up the ridge, the sun and clouds cast a starkly dark shadow on half of the land. The other half was unencumbered by clouds and completely, brightly illuminated. It was so reminiscent of yin and yang – two equally powerful and opposite forces. What a good place to exist – right in the middle where masculine and feminine meet. Understanding how these connect is crucial. Coincidentally, we passed another couple getting married in this moment. Talk about balance. Likewise, Ellen’s gorgeous strawberry blonde hair and Jake’s perfectly manicured black beard are the most perfect combination of dark and light ever, equally powerful, but different 🙂
Dude, Where’s My Marmot?
Additionally, the meaning and intention of the day is true. Ellen and Jake choose expressive socks that represent significant music soothing and stimulating to their imagination. Furthermore, Ellen & Jake request that elements from The Big Lebowski be incorporated into their ceremony. Together, we create a meaningful ceremony full of symbolism and passion. While officiating, Kevin wore clothing similar to what The Dude would wear (or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brevity thing). Their Unity Ceremony includes pouring a White Russian, which is the drink of choice for the protagonist in The Big Lebowski. The vodka is the chaos of the world while Ellen is represented by the sweet cream. Naturally, as a brewer, Jake is the flavorful Kahlúa. The additions of sweetness and flavor by Ellen and Jake make the chaos of the world not only tolerable, but quite enjoyable.
Also, one of the great parts about elopements is that you don’t have to exchange your vows at a specific time if you don’t want to. You can adventure until it feels right. You will probably have some nerves and emotion, expectantly so. In Ellen and Jake’s case, they happen to exchange vows near sunset. Simultaneously, the sky turns lavender and pink as they speak their handwritten vows. As the ceremony concludes, we sit back, observe, and take it all in. It is a powerful, surreal moment and one that is happily etched into our memories forever.
Sometimes, unexpected guests crash elopements such as birds, chipmunks, or elk. In this case, there was an audience of marmots. You just never know who might stop by during your wildly romantic elopement!
Ellen and Jake, your Breckenridge elopement is what love is all about. From slippery slips to fingers that fing, we just can’t get enough of your elopement adventure! You two are far out, and Jake, you’re one hell of a brewer!
