Roaring Twenties Brown Palace Wedding
Brown Palace Wedding
This Brown Palace wedding is a Great Gatsby inspired, 1920s styled wedding with a smaller guest count and intimate vibe. Making use of the entire hotel space, the couple was married in the Brown Palace Club room and celebrated in the Onyx Room. Furthermore, they shared their first look and read private letters in the hotel’s restaurant, Ship Tavern.
The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa
The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa took four years to build and opened its doors on August 12th, 1892 in lower downtown Denver, Colorado. Its founder, Henry Cordes Brown, hired architect Frank Edbrooke who incorporated an Italian Renaissance style that radiates an ornate yet communal atmosphere. Brown spent $1.6 million to build his palace and another $400k to furnish it, which was a considerable amount in the late 1800s.
Moreover, wood was used sparingly during construction; instead, hollow blocks of porous terracotta make The Brown Palace one of the only fireproof buildings in America. Originally, The Brown Palace had 400 rooms. Today, there are 241 rooms available to rent. Afternoon tea is a staple of The Brown Palace, which is available every single afternoon. As of 2010, the rooftop of The Brown Palace became home to 5 colonies of honey bees. Their honey is used to make the Brown Palace honey wheat beer.
