Sewanee Engagement Photography Session| Jennifer & Jacob

One fateful fall night, a haunted corn maze brought together Velma and Spock. The two theater students didn’t know it then, but eventually this seemingly random introduction would turn into a real life fairytale romance. Years later, Velma (Jennifer) and Spock (Jacob) have embarked on this maze called life, maturing individually while still growing together. The greatest constant has been their unfailing devotion to one another that is now turning into a promise of forever when Jennifer and Jacob say their vows to one another tomorrow. Before embarking on their greatest adventure yet, the couple returned to the place where it all began in Tennessee for an adventurous Sewanee engagement photography session.

I met Jennifer during our college years and joined the same sorority, Kappa Delta. In turn, she introduced me to Jacob. I have always looked up to their relationship as a true testament to unwavering commitment. Despite the long distance, they each put in the work to keep the fire alive while also honoring the other’s need to grow into their own person. It was truly a beautiful thing to witness. Joy overflowed when the couple asked us to capture their special day.

Paying homage to the start of their relationship, we started our session wandering the streets of their hometown Franklin, TN. The two held hands as they walked down streets filled with memories and danced in front of the theater where many dates unfolded and romance bloomed. We then drove to Sewanee and explored many of the magical spots that make the town so unique. Jennifer and Jacob enjoyed the expansive landscape of Green’s View, traversed the drop-offs of Morgan’s Steep, traced the names carved into the Sewanee Conglomerate of Proctors Halls, splashed around in the fresh mountain streams, and finally ended with lunch at Stirling’s Coffee House. Somewhere amongst the Sewanee conglomerate and the quaint landmarks of Franklin, the memories of Jennifer and Jacob’s growth and devotion reverberated into their hearts and mine.

If their engagement photos are any indicator, their wedding is going to be filled with laughter, tears, and an authentic joining of souls who truly belong together. Jennifer & Jacob, we cannot wait for tomorrow!
