Sapphire Point Elopement | Kristin & Josh
Josh gazed out over the calm waters of Lake Dillon patiently awaiting his bride, Kristen. He’s been a very busy man: graduation, residency applications, and planning a move across the country are just a few of the things he recently juggled. The loving constant through his entire journey to this point is Kristen who extended her hand to tap him on the shoulder. Over a decade of memories and sacrifices for one another, and they are about to see each other for the first time before they officially tie the knot during their Sapphire Point elopement.
It was a family affair as their bridal party was comprised of their siblings and one cousin. This collection of men and women really complemented Kristen and Josh extremely well. Simply put, they radiated greatness and togetherness. What’s more, Josh’s grandfather officiated the ceremony while most of the guests attending their intimate elopement were family. And what an incredibly gracious, kind, and dapper group they are.
Welcoming guests to the ceremony were the songs from one guitar, echoing sweet notes out of a small amplifier near a grand pine tree. There were soft hints of flamenco tambres and really meshed well with the whole vibe of the moment. The altar stood high above their first look location, which really added depth to the sense of progress and accomplishment. You could clearly see how far they had climbed from where they started, just a microcosm of the bigger picture. Chipmunks zigzagged the perimeter and even tickled the hands of one young boy. With rain looming all day, it held off until the very moment that we were done with all of their portraits.
Finally, the reception was held upstairs in Breckenridge at a long standing restaurant with a lovely Victorian feel. The toasts given really captivated everyone from the bride and groom to the wait staff to us. You couldn’t help but be pulled into the stories, the tears, the laughter. It made for a lovely close to an incredible day. Kristen and Josh, thank you for making us feel like family! It was such a fun experience and we wish you all the best in the next stage of your lives together!
