Jurassic Park Vibes
Caitlin and Grant’s Colorado elopement tucks within a rising, towering red rock formation. Before the ceremony, Grant clears a walking path from the entrance of the site to the back where family gather. The secluded piece of land showcases natural amplification. With acoustic clarity, Caitlin and Grant’s vows echo skyward. And the natural amplification is a nice touch to an incredibly perfect Colorado elopement! From gorgeous red rocks to sunset rainbows, the evening is sweetly enchanted!
What’s more, it feels like we are in Jurassic Park, partly because we need an ATV to access the nooks and crannies on this beautiful stretch of land. Our closest neighbors are a herd of moose and a couple of deer. And this mellow privacy of the wilderness provides the most ideal setting to get married. Distant thunder creates sweet percussion like a free spirited drummer playing to her own beat. This site absolutely inspires us artistically! Time flies by, as there are infinitely beautiful ideas for compositions. Moreover, even after hours of photographing, we feel like we barely scratch the surface. Every direction is full of something new!
Rainbows & Timelines
With elopements and intimate weddings, timelines are easily amended. In this case, the caterers arrive with dinner later than scheduled. But it’s no problem! We adjust on the fly and move our newlywed portraits up (and it’s a good thing we did)! Now, we are able to capture Caitlin and Grant beneath a vast rainbow that only appears for a matter of minutes. Also, the ceremony needs to be moved back about a half an hour. Subsequently, on the short drive to the ceremony site from the reception location, Foreigner’s “Hold the Line” plays. Everyone gets a nice laugh at the irony of the lyrics, “Love isn’t always on time.” 🙂
Caitlin and Grant, thank you for having us be a part of your incredible Colorado elopement! It was so special, and we want to acknowledge that we will never experience anything quite like your unique and magical day. Thank you for everything!
