Colorado Cabin Engagement | Sarah & Kevin

          Kevin’s cabin has been in his family for decades.  It is privately nestled deep within the Colorado Mountains.  It was an honor to be asked to visit and take engagement photos with he and Sarah at such a unique dwelling.  We met them off the beaten path and went down a dirt road until there was a subtle clearing of trees on the side of the road.  We entered the private driveway and soon came to a hand made bridge that rose above a bubbling stream, fully alive with snowmelt.  Traveling to this location feels like Lydia Maria Child’s poem “Over the River and Through the Wood,” and it immediately gave us a sense of nostalgia even though we had never been here before.  Sarah and Kevin’s Colorado cabin engagement shoot was one for the ages!

          Our tires splashed along the short drive through the narrow driveway beneath a beautiful canopy of trees until we reached a vast clearing where the cabin is located.  The quaint, rustic cabin is an absolute slice of heaven. Light rain soon gave way to the prevailing sunshine, and we got to play around the grounds with Sarah and Kevin.  We felt right at home with them as they danced with the trees, tiptoed over a mini marsh, hiked up nearby hills, and swung in a cozy swing that embodied the charm of the entire area that was built by hand.  The lake that greeted us on our way in made for the perfect way to soak in the setting sun. What made it even more fun were their two dogs, Mason and Harper!

          Sarah and Kevin, thank you for having us at such a special place!  Exploring the nooks and crannies during your filled us with wonder and imagination.  We hope these photographs of your Colorado cabin engagement resurrect the memories of this incredible space long after the reservoir is created.  We had such a great time! We cannot wait for your wedding day next year!
