Unexpected challenges can bring out the best in those willing to find purpose, understanding, and acceptance. When it comes to getting married, love is the ultimate form of reason. Though this year presented a myriad of obstacles and necessary sacrifices, love and passion persevered. Thankfully, the pain of uncertainty was eased by effort. Through patience and preparation, literally any result became more bearable. Our couple’s found opportunity when relishing restrictions instead of resisting them. The difficulty of navigating ever changing protocols made these moments all the sweeter.

In a way, the pandemic united the world unlike anything else could have. Though we were physically separated, we all dealt with a common hurdle. Perhaps this pandemic was an opportunity in disguise – an opportunity to become more compassionate. You never know how this pandemic affected your neighbor: a loved one could have passed, a business could have been lost, work requirements may have been significantly increased, or a whole range of other possibilities. One thing is certain: we’re all in a battle together, and it’s a whole lot easier when we support each other.

In addition to this pandemic, the Colorado wildfires desecrated areas of our land. There was ash falling from the sky in Estes Park on a morning when we were supposed to shoot in Rocky Mountain National Park. So we had to adapt on the fly. No contribution to environmental health is too small. Anything that we can do to preserve our land is worth doing.

Being able to witness and help create such significant ceremonies and moments with couples is the most fulfilling practice. The more intimate elopements we experience, the more we realize how purpose truly drives the events and meaning of a wedding day. To all of our couples this year, we admire your resiliency and abilities to adapt. Your collective sacrifices and endurance was a beautiful thing to see. We felt so very deeply connected, and we appreciate your determination. Now with 2020 in the books, we are honored to present this collection of highlights!
